The Liebster Award

Not my usual sort of post but its better than nothing right?
So I was nominated for the Liebster Award (thanks Hannah!). If I'm honest I don't know what it is but I get the impression it is to help bloggers interact with each other which is quite brill. And apparently Liebster means sweetheart in German so that's a good enough reason to do a blog post about it.
Oh wait, there are rules! And here they are:

  • Link the person you have nominated
  • Answer the questions given by the nominator
  • Nominate 11 blogs with less than 200 followers (so that's the reason I was nominated ah)
  • Create 11 questions for the nominees to answer (bare effort)
  • Notify the nominees through social media
Well lets answer these questions then,,,
Why did you decide to start blogging?
I decided to start blogging back in 2009 simply (so cringe) 'to make a change' but well here we are 5 years later talking about eyebrows and lipstick. The main reason is that there are so many blogs that I'm jealous of and it just made me want to start writing and get involved in the blogging game.
What would be your ideal day?
This definitely depends on my mood, but either a lazy day with friends watching Netflix or an unlimited money shopping trip with lots of coffee breaks.
What's your favourite film?
It has to be 10 Things I Hate About You, that film is bloody amazing.
Sweet or savoury?
Hands down sweet. Chocolate is everything in life.
If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy?
Hmm, this is a hard question but due to my current situation probably a decent house. Or if I'm feeling selfish, an eyebrow bar. It's literally my dream to set up an eyebrow bar (but obvs that's never going to happen).
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Boobs,boobs, bossy, boobs, boobs
What are your top 3 music artists/bands?
1. You Me At Six
2. Fall Out Boy
3. Beyonce
Where is your favourite place in the world?
New York even though I have never visited there. Life goals right there,
If you could be an animal, what would you be?
Probably a cat. Probably a fat one also. I'm very lazy.
What is your favourite item of makeup?
Oh it has to be my Benefit mascara! I bloody love it, makes my eyelashes look so unbelievably long. Or my cheap ass eyeshadow that I know you use to fill my brows in, that's also amazing.
Do you have a celebrity crush? If so, who?
Good old Leo or James Franco. Mmmm....

So I'm nominating:
Here are my questions also:
  1. What's your dream job?
  2. Favourite season of the year?
  3. What's your favourite item of clothing?
  4. What 3 things would you take to a desert island?
  5. Who is your inspiration/idol?
  6. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
  7. What always makes you laugh?
  8. What animal best describes you?
  9. What is your favourite type of film?
  10. Is honesty always the best policy?
Thanks for reading!

Long Awaited Blog Post

I am so angry. I had planned three blog posts, had all the photos saved on my new iphone 6 (thank you santa). You can just imagine how chuffed I was with all this planning of posts and it was almost like a undeclared new years resolution- to be more organised with my blog. The reason I'm writing this is because I'm so frustrated over my own stupid mistake. Being the tech wizard I am, I realised I hadn't synced my photos on to my laptop so that was today's plan. I was going to finish writing my first blog post and add in all the (if I do say so myself) amazing photos I had taken. But oh no. Apple had other ideas.
So the problem I had was I had started a new icould profile and had the issue of getting all my music from my old one to my new one. I went through so much hassle just trying to connect my phone to my laptop that I didn't bother to read any of the little signs that popped up. Lesson learnt- never skim on things that say reset. There were two options and stupidly I clicked on the back up one, not realising the havoc it would create. It replaced everything on my new phone with everything from my old icould. BAM, all my lovely new photos gone. Yes there were only 50 photos but I was so bloody proud of them. And now I'm left with a reset phone, no contacts, no photos and no Kim Kardashian app meaning I'm back to being an E lister. Fuck you Apple.
I felt like I had to write this because (although my blog doesn't get that many views) I still care about what I'm putting out and feel bad when I don't post things. It's so frustrating to have something like this happen because I was so proud of the ideas in my head and the photos I had taken. Now I have to start from scratch. Some of the ideas I can't even recreate as (spoiler I was doing a what I got for christmas) I've opened things and used them.
Sorry for the long awaited blog post and sorry that you'll have to wait even longer :(
But thank you if you still read my blog! There will be two blog posts within the next week- once I've gotten over being an E lister. All my hard work ruined!

Bushy Brows

If Cara can do it, so can I.
Ok, so maybe I don't have the long blonde hair or the tiny skinny figure but if there is one thing I've learnt from her is that it's time to embrace my brows. No longer will I pluck the caterpillars (well I will when they start blocking my vision) or suffer at the hands of a random women armed with hot wax. If I'm honest it's a blessing that big brows have come back in - no women should have thin lines above her eyes.

It's quite easy to get eyebrows like Cara. Not all of us are lucky enough to be born with perfect eyebrows so we have to fake it a bit. It is best to go to a professional to get the perfect shape; a DIY job for shaping your eyebrows is not a good idea. Brow kits are literally my saviour as I have no idea what I'm doing. I use the Benefit brow shaping kit, in dark, to fill in my brows. To be honest you can get a similar one for a fiver but oh well. Simply brush in powder and volia! Luckily I have dark eyebrows so I can get away with not doing much really,
If only my eyebrows would grow longer and maybe one day I will have perfected Cara- like eyebrows.

Flippin' Fancy Dress

I was not a happy bunny when my friend decided to throw a fancy dress party. The hassle of finding a costume just makes me want to run away and lock myself in my wardrobe. But instead of politely declining the invite, I embraced the challenge of finding a 'I really can't be bothered to dress up but here's my pathetic attempt' costume.
So what does any single young women go as? A cat, But due to every other slutty girl dressing up as a cat, I decided to go for a bunny. And as much as I wanted to go all Bridget Jones I could not face the thought of wearing a bunny tail or a leotard, it's winter for Christ sake (and I was not up for shaving).

So instead I opted for some black lacy ears and drawing some whiskers on my face. That really is enough effort, isn't it? Luckily I had a black dress tucked away in my wardrobe that a had a hint of slut but just enough class to make me look a sexy bunny and not a stripper. And voliĆ”, my costume was complete. I wish I had taken better quality photos to post on my blog but unfortunately pre-drinks made that a bit hard.
I thought there was no point bothering with my hair too much seeing as I'd have my ears on all night (and surprisingly they stayed on my head even when I was being sick), so I did two tiny buns on my head which actually looked half decent. I then did my everyday makeup but made my eyes more prominent and coloured in my nose. If I'm honest, I actually quite enjoyed the whole fancy dress experience.  I'm never going to be the girl who spends £50 on a fancy dress costume but I will be the girl who attempts to look half decent.

My Diet Progress

Yes, you guessed it. It's not going well.
I'm blaming winter to be quite frank. It's too cold not too eat an extra tin of spaghetti hoops. Ooo with soggy toast as well. Diets are the bane of my life. Originally I was going to write a blog post telling you all about my healthy meals and new found focus on my health. Yeah, that post is probably never going to be written.
The truth is I don't really care about my weight. If it wasn't for boys and bitchy girls, I would probably be the size of a whale. It all stems back to when I got called fat one time and now I'm constantly concerned about my weight and the way I look. The average uk women is a size 12 (or 14?I can never remember) and I'm a size 8-10, so why do I get worried if I gain a pound? Every woman is different. It all depends on your height and body shape. I know that because I'm 5ft1 realistically I should weigh a lot less than the average women but I don't. So what can I do?
I think the main thing I need to do right now is continuing with how I'm feeling. Stop caring. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. As long as I'm not obese, I'm fine. Maybe try to eat healthier? Chocolate is always going to be my downfall and I need to get around that somehow.
Anyway I know this post is just me rambling on about weight and diets so I'll stop and leave with some pics of my 'healthy' food ideas. Ovbs they're not that healthy.

15 thoughts woman have when dieting

The average woman is not Millie Mackintosh. We don't take our dieting and exercising seriously and that's probably because we don't have the luxury of having a personal trainer to motivate us or the funds to buy asparagus strawberry protein shakes (is that a thing?). Plus maccies - lets be honest, who doesn't like McDonald's? So here's 15 thoughts woman have when dieting:

1. Why do all my clothes make me look fat? I haven't even eaten anything with more than 200 calories today,

2. I swear I'm gaining weight.

3. Fucks sake, I give up. I LOVE MY CURVES.

4. Just going to eat all this ice cream because I'm All About That Bass, am I right ladies?

5. Right, just repeat after me: "I love kale".

6. Why did my boyfriend just buy me a gym membership? Does he think I'm fat? Oh god, what if I have that fat image disease where I think I'm skinnier than I actually am.

7. I could totally do a pole dancing class. Or maybe zumba? Ah maybe I'll just take up running...but what do I wear?

8. Need to purchase sports bra, my breasts were 3 miles high in the sky. Also feel like death. Maybe running isn't for me...

9.OH MY GOD. I LOST A POUND. Maybe I should keep up the dieting, I can totally see myself at the gym everyday and drinking protein shakes.

10. Gained two pounds! How?? It's obviously because muscle weighs more and definitely not the fact that I've eaten takeaway every night in a row.

11. Why can't they just invent a weight loss pill without making ourselves have diarrhea!

12. Size 10, time to brag about it at work and refuse to eat the biscuits that I payed for. I do love dark chocolate digestives though , ooo and maryland cookies. Maybe one won't hurt...

13. The girl at topshop definitely gave me an odd stare when I asked if they had the skirt in a smaller size. What does she know? Embrace the curves.

14. Relapsed again. Galaxy chocolate is so worth it.

15. HIT MY TARGET WEIGHT BITCHES! Time to stop going to the gym and crack open the crisps!

Where am I going?

Yes. It's pretty obvious I never blog these days (let's be honest I never blogged anyway) but the idea of blogging at the moment scares me. I don't know what direction to take my blog in. Fashion? Lifestyle? Whatever I want, I guess you'd say. But the problem is I just don't know. Do I want to write  a serious sensible blog with the occasional fun piece? Or do I keep it simple and do a lifestyle blog? The amount of blogs out there today are unoriginal. Lets face it- beauty blogging is out of control. Every man and their dog has a blog, so I need to be original. How though? What do I have that makes my blog different?

Well I'm still at school so my demographic could easily be teenagers but nobody wants to read about school. I'm too poor to be a beauty blogger, I have no income so no money to spend on beauty products. To be quite honest although I pretend I'm interested in serious news events and important issues in the world, I don't really want to blog about them. A blog should be a fun place that you guys can come and enjoy (whoever you guys are). The reality is that I should just blog whatever comes to mind and worry about where I want to take my blog when it gets a bit more successful (if ever!) So for now I will just test the waters and see what works and what doesn't. Hopefully I'm might even get a bit of feedback of you guys- that is if anybody reads my blog.

So for now I'll leave a few things that I'm in love with. I really need to start buying more colourful items.
